01/07/08: MAJOR CHANGES TO GHT (ESSEX UK)

July see`s major changes coming to GHT.
Here is a breakdown of what will be coming up and how it will be effecting the team.

VIGIL FEE`S:
Commencing from 1st July, ALL vigils will now be subject to a £5.00 fee per person. This is to cover costs and liability.

ATTENDANCE:
Also from the 1st July, compulsory notice of attending a vigil MUST be notified to GHT Admin no later than TWO DAYS before the vigil date. Any notification recieved within the two day limit will still be subject to the £5.00 vigil fee.
Exceptions will be considered for ill health, bereavement or accidents.

GHT / SPIRITUAL INVESTIGATIONS MERGER:
I`m pleased to announce that plans are afoot to merge these two teams. Lynne Thorpe from S.I. has approached Colin with an idea to bring herself plus 4 of her team over to GHT. Lynne`s team has an excellent record and has attended numerous investigations, they have good connections too, plus Public Liability Insurance - hence the reason we need to help pay towards that cost with £5.00. The merger will mean:

increased cover when members are unable to attend
the addition of two more Mediums
access to more indoor locations
the expertise of Barry and Dean with technical help

The members of Lynne`s team will wear GHT T-Shirts, and all vigils will be conducted by GHT under GHT Code of Conduct Rules.
Lynne and Colin are finalising more details, so as soon as more news is available, it wil be added here....

We will also be joined by new Core Team member Kerry, coming to us from another team in Essex. We look forward to working with her on future GHT vigils.

THIS IS PLANNED AS A SPECIAL JOINT PUBLIC EVENT IN 2008 WITH BOTH GHT(ESSEX UK) AND LYNNE THORPE. THE LOCATION WILL MOST LIKELY NOW BE AT THE CROSS KEYS HOTEL, SAFFRON WALDEN, ESSEX SINCE IT OFFERS A CENTRAL, UNDERCOVER LOCATION TO CONDUCT THE PUBLIC AROUND. ALL PROCEEDS FROM THIS EVENT WILL GO DIRECTLY TO THE ST MARYS HOSPICE HORSE REFUGE, ROCHFORD (A REGISTERED CHARITY) - FURTHER DETAILS TO FOLLOW...

ISLE OF WIGHT ALL NIGHTER - 24TH SEPT

WE HAVE NOW CONFIRMED THE DATE FOR THIS MASSIVE TWO PART INVESTIGATION BASED ON THE ISLAND. THE PLAN IS TO SPEND A DAY AND NIGHT ON THE ISLAND DURING WHICH WE HOPE TO DO THE FOLLOWING:

WE NEED IMMEDIATE NOTIFICATION REGARDING THIS SPECIAL EVENT.

CORE TEAM ARE REMINDED THAT COLIN AND LIZ WILL HAVE A CARAVAN AND CAN ALLOW AN ADDITIONAL FOUR PEOPLE TO SLEEP OVER. THIS WILL BE ON A FIRST COME/FIRST SERVE BASIS.  COLIN IS ALSO WILLING TO PAY THE COST OF THE CAR FERRY FOR ONE CAR ONLY, SO CAR SHARING WOULD BE A GOOD OPTION. PLEASE NOTIFY US ASAP IF YOU WISH TO DO THIS. CORE TEAM CAN ALSO BOOK THEIR OWN OVERNIGHT STAY IF PREFERRED, ALTHOUGH PLEASE BEAR IN MIND THAT CAR FERRY CHARGES MY BE SEPARATE. *A meeting with Gay Baldwin is by no means definite and GHT (ESSEX UK) does not guarantee this as part of the event, however all attempts to try and secure a meeting will be done.

The completed vigil report for PLUCKLEY 5: A STEP BACK IN TIME is now on the REPORTS PAGES. RESEARCH UPDATES has also been updated. We have added new LOCATION pages for PLUCKLEY 5, ALRESFORD, SAFFRON WALDEN, BINHAM PRIORY and HADSTOCK & BARTLOW - thus filling in the missing items from the selection page. Unfortunately, we do not have any footage from the PLUCKLEY 5 vigil due to a camera fault with finalising the DVD disc. At present we are unable to view the disc or add titles to it and record it to full size dvd format.

GHOST HUNT TEAM (Essex UK) has had an article published in a local newspaper...!!  It takes the form of both a letter to the paper and on the newspaper website. The letter was sent to the Saffron Walden Reporter in response to an article they did on Halloween and the related hauntings at the Cross Keys Hotel in Saffron Walden - scene of a GHT investigation at the start of 2007. We have started our 2008 Investigations in style!!!   February 1st 2008 saw GHOST HUNT TEAM (ESSEX UK) Team up with Kent based BEYOND THE MIST (EKPG) Team for an exciting vigil inside Hythe parish church at NIGHT!!!!  This totally rare and exceptional investigation was only allowed via the generosity of the vicar and the good relations he has with a member of BTM (EKPG) - Extended thanks go to Manda, Bev, Alan and Jamie for allowing GHT (ESSEX UK) to join in with this vigil. In case anyone is not sure, Hythe is the location of an "ossuary" or bone crypt, and we had access to this too...!!!!   Read our report in the REPORT section for 2008....

GHT (ESSEX UK) Will be holding its first ever ANNUAL MEETING this year. The venue chosen is the FOUR ASHES PUB, TAKELEY, ESSEX, set for a time of 14:30hrs. Due to the nature of the important decisions needing to be taken by the team as a whole, then we have had no choice but to insist that ALL CORE TEAM attend this meeting. We will hold it as an OPEN MEETING to non-Core Team to - ie: CHRIS WEET and LYNNE THORPE are welcome to attend if they are able to, although its not compulsory for them.

Due to circumstances beyond their control, our partner team with whom we shared several vigils with this year, SPIRITUAL INVESTIGATIONS has had to cease operation as a paranormal investigation team. The same team members have however already reformed into the new outfit called SPIRITWORKS UK, and they will now continue under this name. (NB: GHT (ESSEX UK) has no longer any links with any such groups referring to themselves as Spiritual Investigations.)
