2005 investigations
BORLEY, ESSEX
TIME: 17:30hrs MONTH: Feb YEAR:
2005
TEAM MEMBERS: COLIN SMITH / ANDY BALL
EQUIPMENT: 2x digital cameras, non-digital camcorder, Recording paperwork
Parked at church car park to start vigil and did a brief walk-around
before it got too dark. Noticed several villagers entering church, turned out there was an Evensong service being held. We
asked permission to enter church too, but this was only granted should also attend the service - so we did. Only decided to
leave after service because of local hostility.
RESULTS:
This was a strange investigation... After the service
ended, we took several digital pictures of the interior. Orb`s were located at the Waldegrave tomb,
at the east end left of the east window, and near the altar rail - this orb was filmed with about a five minute gap and appeared
to have moved up the wall!. We then showed our findings to both the churchwarden and the vicar. It was then that the mood
changed and we were made to feel most unwelcome. We both agreed that the best policy was to end the vigil that night and possibly
return another day.
ADD-ON NOTE:
A return trip in May added nothing new to our findings above. Church was locked.

PLUCKLEY - PART ONE (KENT)
TIME:
19:30hrs MONTH: May YEAR: 2005
TEAM MEMBERS: COLIN SMITH / LIZ SMITH / ANDY BALL
EQUIPMENT: 2x digital cameras, 1x non-digital
camcorder, 35mm APS camera, walkie talkies, Recording paperwork
Heading to Pluckley for the first time ever, we passed the ruins
at St. Mary`s before stopping in the village square. We did visit the Black
Horse pub but held no vigil there. Headed back out to St. Mary`s ruins for a walkabout and
recording the site with pictures. Andy got his "tower-mist" picture at this point. Continued to Fright
Corner, but after a short time, returned to St. Mary`s ruins again before coming home.
RESULTS:
Phew! what a night..!! Pluckley did not disappoint. As
soon as she saw St. Mary`s, Liz felt something was going to happen there, so we knew our vigil
would have to concentrate on this area. The pictures taken here captured several orbs, including a small, blue orb next to
Colin, and a large orb near the tower. Andy got the best result with his "mist" picture. We can confirm as witnessed by all
three present that NO mist could be seen with the naked eye, no-one in the group was smoking and no fog or mist was present
in the weather, in fact we had just been treated to a wonderful sunset that evening! Afterwards, the brief visit to Fright Corner produced more orbs behind a gateway. Andy feels he heard a "scream", but we cannot rule
out animals here. We returned to a slightly more eerie St. Mary`s, a much more oppressive feeling
around the ruins than before. A few pictures were taken again, some with orbs in - But it was Colin`s picture of orbs seemingly
chasing us away from the site which has to be the main ones of note this time.
All team members agreed that a second visit
to Pluckley would have to be on the cards in the near future.

DORSET 2005 (NOT OFFICIAL VIGIL)
Although planned, a one night vigil
in Dorset ultimately did not take place - however, several properties were visited that either have reputed ghostly activity
or produced orbs on film unexpectedly. These locations are:
STUDLAND CHURCH:
Various orb pictures
WHITCHURCH CANONICORUM CHURCH: Single orb in Nave
FIDDLEFORD MANOR: Orb in roof rafters
WIMBORNE MINSTER:
Orb near vaulting in crypt
ATHELHAMPTON HOUSE: Two orbs in Great Hall,
plus small blue orb in the Kings Chamber

SALISBURY CATHEDRAL, WILTSHIRE 2005
(NOT OFFICIAL VIGIL)
Again, not a planned vigil, just part of a daytrip out. Picture
taken in the choir produced several orbs, but the picture taken facing the Trinity Chapel contained
at least 20+ orbs!!!. Picture enhancement to trace all the orbs came up with something else which was totally unexpected -
two "figures" seem to be standing to the left of an altar on the left of the picture. No other person was in the picture when
taken as Colin made sure the view was clear beforehand.
This picture is on the GALLERY
SITE PAGE of this site, however it is also still on GREYGHOST`S WEBSITE. if you wish to see it go to:

Go to the "EXCLUSIVES" page, then
select "KNIGHTS TEMPLARS". We very much thank Greyghost for setting up a page just for us!!

PLUCKLEY 2: THE RETURN (KENT)
TIME: 17:30hrs
MONTH: July YEAR: 2005
TEAM MEMBERS: COLIN SMITH / LIZ SMITH / DENISE SMITH
EQUIPMENT: 2x digital cameras, 1x 35mm APS
camera, 1x digital camcorder with nightvision, walkie-talkies, trigger object, Recording paperwork
A second trip to Pluckley to try to answer some of the questions
left by the first visit. Firstly, upon arrival, took the oppertunity to get inside St. Nicholas`s
church and take camcorder footage plus still pic`s. Afterwards, we went to Dering Woods - aka: "The Screaming
Woods" - and took turns to walk the pathway, recording with camcorder + still pic`s again. Next it was onto the infamous
St. Mary`s, scene of our previous best pictures. We took both camcorder and still pics again, plus
left a Trigger object in the tower doorway. Trigger was a bible with its outline drawn around. Next, back to St.
Nicholas`s for a sit-in vigil in the porch, before back to St. Mary`s to check Trigger and
do last vigil there. Also did a quick trip to Fright Corner for pictures and camcorder footage
again.
RESULTS:
This place is amazing!!!!! once more, Pluckley oozes the
paranormal from every corner. Our first thing was with the walkie talkies. One unit developed bad static whilst Colin held
it, yet went quiet when Liz had it!!! They repeated the swap to see if it changed but it only stayed quiet with Liz. Also
the woodland was very quiet too, with no birdsong or other noises... St. Mary`s provided yet more orb pictures, with a very
bright orb next to Colin, plus slight movement of the trigger-object even before we left for the next site!!. St.
Nicholas`s was quiet in the porch, although two audibles were heard from inside the locked building. Night-vision used
on camcorder. The Dering tomb provided some orb pictures as well. Back at St. Mary`s, things seem
to be waking up, Denise captured first an even better "mist" picture than Andy, then an orb next to Liz. Colin caught several
faint orbs in several locations around the ruins, plus camcorder made full use of new night-vision feature again. Picture
of more orbs as we left again. Fright Corner gave us a real unexpected treat - another "mist" picture
with orbs inside it!!!!
We concluded the vigil at 23:00hrs. All agree that Pluckley exceeded expectations again, but we
may now only return next year while we pursue new sites.
NB: The roads around Pluckley began to have mist rising up from
them. This was also witnessed last time, but this time around the team managed to capture this on camcorder.

KNIGHTON GORGES, I.O.W. PART TWO
TIME:
19:45hrs MONTH: Sept YEAR: 2005
TEAM MEMBERS: COLIN SMITH / LIZ SMITH
EQUIPMENT: 2x digital cameras, 1x 35mm APS camera,
1x digital camcorder with nightvision, walkie-talkies, Recording paperwork
On arrival, we parked up in front of the gates. The first thing
we noticed was new rubbish bins and a new gate itself - someone was living at Knighton Gorges!!! This was confirmed later
when a car requested access thus making us relocate to the other side of the road. Several pictures were taken via Digital
camera, and we took quite alot of footage on camcorder via nightvision.
RESULTS:
Liz didn`t get the same feeling as previous trips until
quite late into the vigil, then she sensed the growing awareness that "something" was not right. We witnessed nothing by the
naked eye, and audible phenomena were hindered by background sound of both sheep and passing vehicles (Knighton Shute is quite
a busy cut-through route). Colin did a solo-vigil along the road, taking pictures and camcorder footage. Picture results showed
several orbs clustered around the gateway and in the road - was something trying to manifest??? Orb concentration varied from
just one or two, to several of various sizes. Blue orb caught above gate in one picture - very small. We closed the vigil
down at 21:50 as we felt we had more than enough footage and still picture evidence at that point.
NB: We later found out
from Gay Baldwin that the cottage at the end of the track, away from the gateposts, is let out
as holiday accommodation!!! What a chance to spend a week in a haunted location....!

HADLEIGH CASTLE (ESSEX)
TIME: 19:30HRS MONTH: Oct
YEAR: 2005
TEAM MEMBERS: COLIN SMITH / LIZ SMITH / ANDY BALL / DENISE SMITH
GUESTS: None
EQUIPMENT: 1X Digital camcorder,
4X Digital camera , 1X aps 35mm camera, Walkie talkies. Recording paperwork.
Arrived onsite, heavy rain. We quickly got into the castle ruins
to plan our strategy. Splitting into two teams (Colin + Liz, Denise + Andy) we went to either end of the castle, with Colin
and Liz at tower B, and Denise and Andy at the Kitchen ruins. Attempts to make contact produced no results. Digital and camcorder
footage taken. Both teams took turns to visit the main tower. Colin and Liz reported battery failiure on cameras except camcorder.
Colin hears voice near tower. Andy and Denise investigate same tower - both hear a voice coughing.
Vigil concludes just
as rain stops!!
RESULTS:
Hadleigh gave us a mixed bag really - we did get some
clear orb pictures, but with rain about we cannot rule out water droplets caught in the flash. More interesting is the audible
phenomena. There was no-one onsite but us, and we knew we had not made the sounds, yet three of the group heard a voice-like
sound in the same location at different times. Also the battery drain of fresh battries was very strange.
Best of all was
a picture on Denise`s camera of what looks like a piece of armour. Was something trying to manifest???
Perhaps a return
visit next year will help answer this...
