GHT TEAM

GHOST HUNT TEAM (ESSEX UK) Has been going since 2004. Our aim is to promote ghosthunting as an activity that anybody can undertake without the need for expensive tools and equipment. Although we started with four CORE TEAM MEMBERS, and we do often have Guest`s joining us on vigils, and will work with other Investigation Teams too, we have recently expanded the main team with additional people to help cover larger investigations and fill-in for others who cannot attend.

COLIN SMITH (TEAM LEADER - (BELIEVER)

RESPONSIBLE FOR: ALL SPIRITQUEST WEBSITES/CHAT FORUM CONSTRUCTION - VIDEO FILMING - ORDERING EQUIPMENT - TEAM LEADER "STUFF"

Colin has described himself often as an "...open-minded sceptic!". He neither believes or disbelieves in the paranormal, although several recent experiences may be tipping the favour towards "believeing" given events he has seen and recorded at the Isle of Wight, Borley and Pluckley. He still tries to be the "rational voice" of the group and always seeks the logical answer first before the paranormal one.
Recent events at Pluckley on the 8th July have forced Colin to concede a few beliefs - He was nearly taken over by a "negative entity" during a circle in the church porch. This experience has now given him another insight into a World he was largely sceptical of before...
Colin works full-time at Stansted Airport alongside Andy (see below) but in his spare time he likes to pursue his interest in Church architecture, PC games, writing Dance, ambient and trance tracks on Dance Ejay software, tracking down "Green Men" and writing a Staff Newsletter called BAY 16 for work.

Colin has recently appointed ANDY BALL as ACTING TEAM LEADER to take his place when he is unable to attend investigations, with a view to letting Andy take over completely in the near future.

Colin recently started to explore his skills as a sensitive with help from Lynne Thorpe. So far the results have been mixed and Colin is not too sure how far to go with it all, but it is still very much a work-in-progress

LIKES: Being involved with the whole paranormal thing!! Also, zooming about in my car, watching a good film and tinkering about on computers! ....oh, and a certain lady i know too!!!

DISLIKES: Bad driving, time wasters, the useless political state this country is in and most TV reality shows too...

ANDY BALL, a great Tram fanatic - has now found a new hobby, the supernatural!!!
Andy was instantly addicted when he caught on camera his famous tower-mist picture from Pluckley. Although unable to attend the second visit, we feel sure Andy is more than ready to return there after seeing our most recent evidence from that site.

Andy was the team`s first full Sensitive and has had coaching to this effect whilst at Pluckley on the 8th July. This will be an ongoing development as he becomes more aware of his powers, his guide and his limitations. This was nearly brought to a head by a health scare in late 2006 which saw Andy miss out on the last vigil of that year. However, he is fully recovered now and is once more proving to be the group premier Sensitive after a fantastic number of correct matches with info gathered on the Caister site. He has also been aware of spirits in and around the Airport which prompted him to do some further research, again getting some encouraging results.
Andy works at Stansted Airport, and also works as a volunteer at a hospital radio station. He has a passion for transport and won`t hear a wrong word said about his beloved Blackpool...!!!

Andy has lead the GHT team on a couple of occasions and has now been promoted to ACTING TEAM LEADER in the event Colin is unable to attend. He has full access to the website controls and team equipment.

Peter or Pete has been a full CORE TEAM MEMBER for over a year and first joined our team on the investigation of Hadstock and Bartlow. Although he says he does not believe in Ghosts as such, he has taken part in a Circle whilst on the vigil and experienced something quite unique to himself which did take him by surprise slightly, and also witnessed Andy`s jacket being manipulated by an unseen hand too!!!. Colin and Andy know Pete from their work at Stansted with National Express. Pete is a Supervisor/mechanic with a local firm. He now lives in Finchingfield, Essex - which puts him well placed to cover our local vigils, but we hope to get him out to some of our other fave haunts soon in 2007. It will be interesting to see if his sceptical side can be replaced by that of the believer before the end of next year...!!! We shall see..... Pete recently was joined on several vigils by his partner Sheree and her son James who have now joined GHT as full Core Team.

Sheree was also a driver which is how Pete met her. Sheree has already had some notable things happen to her, with names given to her by spirit - we are waiting to see if she wishes to develop further any sense of Sensitivity, in which case Lead Sensitive ANDY BALL will help and tutor her.

James has showed remarkable talent for observation and handling the Recording of details. He has also experienced some strange phenomena whilst on GHT vigils which we hope will give him further confidence for future investigations. Due to James being under 18, GHT do have to restrict some of the things he is allowed to do but hopefully this does not stop him being a full and respected team member. James had hoped to be joining the RAF in the near future, However, this plan is now on hold. He became full Core Team during the end of the 2007 investigations.

LIZ SMITH (BELIEVER / SENSITIVE) - GHT ADMIN

RESPONSIBLE FOR: RECORDING SHEET UPDATE - CATERING - SECOND DRIVER (IF REQ) - DVD CAMCORDER FILMING - GENERAL TEAM ADMIN/EMAIL

LIZ SMITH, Mother to both Colin and Denise (below) with what she says is a sense or ability to feel a presense. Although not a full Medium, Liz must hope to further the development of this extra gift.
Still in full-time work, Liz has been on several vigils and even photgraphed an orb on 35mm film at Iffley Church in Oxford.

Liz is still not sure if she wishes to go down the same path as Andy and explore her potential as a Medium.

Liz handles all the catering for the vigils (food and drink) for which a small fee is normally charged to cover costs. She also takes charge of the recording sheet and keeps the records of each vigil up to date.

Liz now also helps out with the filming of the DVD footage, which helps give Colin a break from filming and makes sure that he can be seen on film more often. Liz did her first stint of filming on the Clare / Tilty and Debden Investigation and this footage picked up several moving orbs. Liz will be doing more filming from now on. Her abilities with her sensitivity on a spirit level ar getting stronger, and we hope Liz will in time come to trust these insights and perhaps gain some extra knowledge to help her harness them better. Liz now also has the duties of GHT ADMIN that expands her role within the team.She will be the one sending out the e-mail mailshot from now on. All team related issues should be forwarded to her. (to protect from spamming, Core team should save Liz`s e-mail address from the next mailshot. It will NOT be shown on any of our websites)

DAVE WOOD ( INVESTIGATOR - SENSITIVE / BELIEVER)

Dave (along with Emma) joined the team after two full vigils, one of which was the appraisal. He has already shown he might have possible Sensitive abilities which will need further guidence and teaching. Dave no longer works alongside both Colin, Andy, Pete and Emma for National Express at Stansted and recently due to illness he had to leave this post to look for other work.

Dave has now attends main GHT vigils using his untapped talent for sensitivity regarding the paranormal and is starting to show real promise. The Caister investigation revealed he has the potential to become really useful to the group. Colin is hoping that Andy will help and encourage Dave to further his abilities - but maintains they will still both require a course at a Spiritualist Group to help open their minds further.

Dave and Emma have also taken it upon themselves to visit some locations outside of the GHT group, and Dave has some interesting suggestions regarding future locations to visit. They hope to use local knowledge and insight to find GHT some new locations for the future.

EMMA LONTON (BELIEVER / TEAM RESEARCHER)

RESPONSIBLE FOR: RESEARCH - EXTRA VEHICLE + DRIVER - RECORDING SHEET - PHOTOGRAPHY

Emma is Dave`s partner and was working as a coach driver for National Express, based at Stansted, but has since decided to leave this post due to recent illness. She has been very interested in the paranormal for sometime and likes all the TV shows like "Most Haunted". The first thing we noticed about Emma was her clear and concise paperwork on the recording sheets. Although not her principle role within the group, she made the transferring of details across to this website so much easier as she had allocated a time index for every recorded detail. This gave the Hadleigh and Alresford vigils some of the best written-up reports on the site. Along with Dave, it seems Emma is also keen to explore potential sites outside of the group too... At this time it is unclear how sensitive to spirits she is, but hopefully the more work she does as an investigator, the more in tune she will become. We hope that now she is a full Core Team member she can attend our vigils and get involved with some really good investigations since joining in 2006. Recently, Emma has proven that she is also a very adept researcher, and therefore her title within the Team has been changed to reflect this.

DENISE SMITH (PSYCHIC SENSITIVE - INVESTIGATOR)

RESPONSIBLE FOR: BACK-UP TO FULL SENSITIVES - PHOTOGRAPHY - SPARE DRIVER

Upgraded from Guest to CORE TEAM now that her shiftwork allows for this.. Denise is a Psychic Sensitive who works well with the Team`s lead Sensitive, Andy Ball. Although still developing the gift she has, she has had notable success at Alresford and in the Cross Keys in Saffron Walden which has helped back-up info given by Andy which we were later able to confirm. She is invaluable as a link in any Circles performed by the Team as the added information she gains gives further background to our Sensitive`s and what they get. Denise works for Stagecoach in Cambridge. She does find her conflicting work rota sometimes means that she will miss some investigations, but we are aware of this and often compensate by bringing in a Guest Member to make up numbers. She was an original founder of GHT back in 2004.

LYNNE THORPE (MEDIUM) - A Medium of many years experience, Lynne helped discover both Denise and Andy, and has been to Alresford and Canewdon churches with Colin as well as the joint Pluckley vigil, the Epping vigil with EKPG, and Hadleigh Castle. She is now welcome as a Core Team member as her mediumship is very powerful and accurate, and all the GHT team are very fond of her. Lynne is a member of GHT`s joint team called SPIRITUAL INVESTIGATIONS (to see site click HERE) and is also a practising White Witch.

GHOST HUNT TEAM has in the past allowed Special Guest Members to attend its vigils. Although both Pete, Dave and Emma attended as Guests during their appraisal, only three people remain as Full Guest status. This allows them the freedom to attend whichever vigil they like without the burden of having to turn up at every single one. The main Guest is:

CHRIS WEET - Chris is Colin`s best friend whom he has known since school. They share a love of history and Chris is certainly interested in aspects of the paranormal. Chris is married and lives in Essex but has travelled far. He enjoys walking holidays, visiting old forts also getting dragged around churches by Colin!! Chris uses his extensive knowledge of history as guest researcher for GHT. Chris has also recently used the DVD Camcorder during vigils and now acts as an extra user for this item when in the team.
